Atlanta Prime Timers Monthly Membership Meeting
Lost-n-Found Youth
When: Saturday, February 7, 2026; 3:00 – 5 p.m.
Where: Brookhaven United Methodist Church (BUMC), 1366 North Druid Hills Road, Brookhaven, GA 30319
Reservations: Not required but appreciated for accurate food and drink count.
Event Details: Lost-n-Found Youth (LnFY) is an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization that exists to end homelessness for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) and all sexual minority youth by providing them with the skills and support needed to live independently.
Melanea Alvarez, LnFY executive director, relocated to Georgia in 2014 when she accepted a senior HR leadership role with a local financial institution. Throughout her career, Melanea has held leading roles with fortune 500 consulting firms spearheading global and domestic client engagements across various industries. Prior to becoming the executive director for the Atlanta nonprofit, Melanea was a highly active volunteer for the organization, later becoming a board member and ultimately the board chair for two consecutive terms. Melanea wears many hats and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to supporting youth and community, she is passionate about giving youth choices and resources to help build their future so they may live independently.
The focus of Melanea’s presentation is to introduce APT members to to the charity, discuss possible interactions with our group and explain how we can help support Lost-n-Found Youth.
Parking: There is ample parking in the BUMC side lot. Turn from North Druid Hills onto Briarwood Road and then into the parking lot.
If you have mobility concerns, park in the reserved spaces on North Druid Hills on the side of the church and then proceed up the walkway to the white doors below the steeple.
