Event Details: Lullwater Preserve lies at the heart of Emory University's campus. The 154 acre preserve contains the home of the University's President, the beautiful Candler Lake, a 210-foot suspension bridge, acres of green space, and miles of walking and jogging trails. Lullwater is the perfect place to experience nature in the city with many species of mammals, reptiles, birds, and lush greenery.
We will hike for approximately 2-2.5 miles starting and ending on the South Peachtree Creek Trail that is near the Central Dekalb Senior Center and the DeKalb Tennis Center. There is a restroom available at the tennis center and plenty of free parking.
Following the hike at approximately 12:45 p.m. we will go to Athens Pizza for an optional lunch.
Directions: Take McConnell Drive past the senior center to the end; then, at the "T" intersection turn left and park.
What to Bring: You may wish to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, and bug spray on the hike.
Cost: Your lunch!
